A visitors’ footbridge, a rest area, a stunning view, a nature reserve: the recently completed first construction phase of Pretul wind farm already checks all the boxes. At an altitude of 1600 metres, the new visitor footbridge leads through the Schwarzriegelmoos, the easternmost hill moor of the Central Alps in Eastern Styria. BWM project manager Gerhard Girsch is one of the first hikers to cross the fragile habitat on the recently completed visitor footbridge – without disturbing its inhabitants (such as the rare Alpine newts). The larch-wood footbridge planned by BWM Architekten offers additional information about the flora and fauna of this special place, as well as lookout points and resting spots.
