MM:NT Berlin Lab
innovative hospitality lab
The launch of MM:NT Berlin Lab marks a pioneering move by apartment hotel operator, Adina Hotels – owned by Australia’s International Hotel Group, TFE Hotels.
A first of its kind, MM:NT Berlin Lab is an ever-evolving mini-hotel laboratory allowing guests to shape their own stay and actively change hospitality trends. Operating in an ongoing beta mode, MM:NT will continuously gather guest feedback to redefine their stay and ultimately enable TFE to shape hospitality products in the future.
The new concept has been brought to life with the six innovative bedrooms and shared spaces designed in partnership with two architects ACME and BWM. London and Berlin based architects, ACME are the interior designer team for all of the shared spaces and four standalone bedrooms at MM:NT Berlin Lab. BWM were invited to design room 00:02 - a Middle room.
At 19 sqm, room 00:02 offers a compact kitchenette with unfussy appliances and is finished with a carefully chosen foresso worktop. The worktop is made from recycling furniture making waste waste, with the materials able to be returned and recycled over and over. Kitchen drawers and cupboards are also locked using Häfele’s locks and can be opened by guests through the digital web concierge app.
Throughout the room, spatial design has been cleverly incorporated to maximise space and allow guests to shape the room to work best for them. This modular design has been brought to life through smartly pull out seating, through to foldable wall panels which are dual function acting as a desk. This flexible use of furniture and thoughtful design enables BWM to fully utilise the space, whilst being seamlessly compact at the same time.
A colour palette of sage green, beige, and natural wood creates a welcoming and calming atmosphere for guests and is accentuated by eco-friendly terrazzo tiling in the bathroom. Ambient lighting fixtures from Nemo Lighting, including the Lampe De Marseille wall lamp and FLOS Bellhop LED table lamps, cast a gentle glow, enhancing the serenity of the space.
Soft furnishings add a touch of comfort and style, with the Rey Chair by Hay in grape red and a black stool by Normann Copenhagen offer inviting seating options. Upholstered in Kvadrat Steelcut Trio 416, the Hay Rey chairs exude modern sophistication, complemented by the light pink carpet.
